Now, here's a verse, a thought, and a quote for the week.
Verse of the Week
But I am poor and needy; yet the Lord thinketh upon me: thou art my help and my deliverer; make no tarrying, O my God. ~ Psalms 40:17
Thought of the Week
On a good summer day, I probably walk by hundreds of ants. I guess it could be thousands, but I wouldn't know. Do you know why? I give it no thought. I may even be a serial ant killer with my size 13 shoes, but I have no idea. Again, do you know why?
Because I don't give ants any thought on a daily basis. They are so small and so distant from my life that unless ants infest my house, I don't think about them. I don't care.
That's why this week's verse blows my mind. I'm a nobody. I don't deserve one ounce of our God's attention, and yet David made a statement that's also true for us.
Even though we are poor (unable to provide any value) and needy (requiring more attention than worthy), the Lord thinks about us. By comparison, we are less than ants in God's eyes, but He thinks and cares for us!
Matthew understood this when he talked about if God will feed the sparrows (smaller than humans), He'll provide for us.
What's tugging on your heart this week? God's already thought about it.
Cast your cares to Him.
Quote of the Week
“God’s care for us is more watchful and more tender than the care of any human father could possibly be.” ~ Hannah Whitall Smith
Have a wonderful week!
